About Amanda

I am currently working towards my PhD (a life time goal) in school psychology and am only a few months away from it! For now, I have a masters in psychology and I’m on my internship where I work with a local charter school as well as at a clinic at NCSU. I enjoy working directly with parents to best support their kids. I love hearing challenges and thinking through holistic solutions that center family and individual values to evoke lasting and long term solutions. I do this through assessment that examine learning challenges, ADHD & Autism as well as through consultation.

I strive to support all kids and their parents; this includes LGBTQ+ folks/families. My research in graduate school has included LGBTQ+ perspectives and I have received extra training in interventions designed specifically for sexual and gender minorities.

Outside of graduate school though…I do exist 🙂 I don’t just love psychology; I also have a deep appreciation for the academic study of religious (so much so, I have a bachelors in it) and a particular interest in evangelical Christianity in the United States. Moving my body is something that brings me immense joy, so I do that more and more (I run, strength train and go to barre classes) and I am lucky that I also love to cook. I love to travel with my husband and my son. While we are gone, my two overlords (ie. cats), Gillian and Genevieve, stay home and stress over everything for us.
